Don't miss marine scientist's talks in Southbroom, Port Shepstone

It is an opportunity to discover the science, behaviour and extraordinary lives of the creatures inhabiting the oceans.

Marine scientist Dr Deborah Robertson-Anderson will present talks on the fascinating lives and behaviour of marine creatures.

The first, Sex in the Sea, will be presented by Oceanfriendly SA at the Riverbend Crocodile Farm in Southbroom on September 19

Starting at 18:00, the talk will explore reproductive strategies in the marine world, from sex-swapping and changing sexes to the unusual ways different species reproduce.

From whales and shrimp to fish and seahorses, Dr Deborah Robertson-Anderson explores the fascinating science of reproduction in the sea.

On September 20, Robertson-Anderson will turn her attention to the wider social lives of ocean creatures in The Deep Dive – Love, War & Society in Our Deep Blue.

Hosted by the Bendigo Conservancy, the talk at the Port Shepstone Country Club will run from 14:00 to 16:00, taking audiences beneath South Africa’s waves to discover the fascinating lives of whales, sharks and orcas, including their societies, rivalries and relationships.
