Business organisations respond to rallying call
Those involved include the South Coast Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Port Shepstone Business Forum, Margate Business Association and the Ugu Business Association.
Over the past few weeks, the negative impact of the coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19) on business has been significant.
A number of local business organisations have collectively responded to the call from local government to co-ordinate an effort to get contributions of soap, sanitsers and non-perishable foodstuffs from the business sector.

“We can understand that your business, too, has been affected so our appeal to you is to go beyond that which is necessary to make your business survive and to consider the desperately needy in our community, those that need help to put food on the table and to take care of basic hygiene,” said Ivan Naidoo, interim president of the South Coast Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Contributions for RNM may be dropped off 23 Allesund Road, Fire Station Building, Oslo Beach and contributions for the other local municipalities may be dropped off at the Ugu Disaster Centre on the R102 in Marburg.
“The municipality has a team that will equitably and responsibly distribute this to our community members who are in need,” said Ivan.
Should you wish to make a monetary contribution towards this effort, banking details will be made available on request.
“Our commitment to you is to be fully accountable and transparent as we apply your funds towards the needs in our community.”
