UPDATE: Body of woman believed to be a sangoma has been identified
She was identified by her next-of-kin.

The woman’s body found in the Umzimkhulu River at Gumatane area has been identified.
According to police, Zanele Masikane (31) from KwaSwayimane was identified by her family.
She was found on Tuesday, June 16 and police had called on the public for assistance to help trace her relatives.

Police are appealing for assistance in tracing he relatives of a woman believed to be in her late 30s whose body was found in the Umzimkhulu River at Gumatane area.
St Faiths police along with police officers from the Port Shepstone Search and Rescue Unit responded to a call on Tuesday, June 16 at 6am.

“They found the body of an unknown woman in the river. The woman’s right leg had been amputated and she had gold upper incisors,” said police spokesman, Captain Nqobile Gwala.
The captain added that the woman was light in complexion, had a heart tattoo on her left shoulder and seven star tattoos on her neck.
Her hair was braided and she was wearing a black and brown striped dress. She is believed to be a sangoma because she had beads on her hands and leg.
