UPDATE: Covid-19 cases increase by 17 in Ugu District

The death rate remains unchanged and the recovery rate has doubled and now stands at 48 in the area.

As of today, Saturday, June 27,  KwaZulu-Natal has 7 090 confirmed Covid-19 cases, according to the department of health.

Of these, 3 564 are active with 507 new cases confirmed today.

Some 109 people have died from the disease.

The recovery rate is 3 417.
