Ugu District Municipality employee tests positive for Covid-19 

The municipality has put in place all precautionary measures to secure and protect the well-being of all their employees during this period.

The Ugu District Municipality confirmed yesterday (Saturday) that one staff member at the Melville Waste Water Treatment plant has tested positive for Covid-19.
France Zama, spokesman for Ugu, said the employee is currently in isolation, and that in line with the Covid-19 Department of Health protocols, the plant has been closed until necessary disinfection and decontamination measures have been conducted.
He confirmed that the municipality is currently engaged with the process of ensuring compliance with all Covid-19 applicable protocols in a workplace.
Necessary measures have already been taken for the employees who were in direct contact with the affected employee and they have been subjected to the Department of Health stringent testing protocols and will be placed in quarantine while waiting for their results.
Mr Zama confirmed that the municipality has put in place all precautionary measures to secure and protect the well-being of all their employees during this period.
