Two arrested in Mvutshini for possession of Mandrax and whoonga

They appeared in the Ramsgate Magistrate's Court on Monday this week and each was granted bail of R1000.

Two men, believed to be dealing in drugs in Mvutshini location, were arrested by Margate Saps crime prevention members last Sunday.

The older man (38) was found to be in possession of 73 whoonga capsules and eight Mandrax boss tablets.

The second man (26) had in his possession 50 whoonga capsules.

They appeared in the Ramsgate Magistrate’s Court on Monday this week. Each was granted bail of R1000 and the case was postponed to October 6.

Margate Saps station commander, Brigadier William Slabbert welcomed the arrests and commended the policemen for the good work.

Brig Slabbert also acknowledged the role played in combating crime by community policing forums, security companies, Ray Nkonyeni Municipality law enforcement, as well as the public in general.

“Since the formation of Margate Saps drug squad there has been a marked improvement in drug related cases,” said spokesman Sergeant Sibu Ncane.
