Motorists given extra time to renew expired driver’s licences
The grace period for all driving licence cards which expired during the Covid-19 lockdown period has been extended for another 90 days.
Simon April, Senior Manager: Mayoralty and Communications at Ray Nkonyeni Municipality has confirmed that that the grace period for all driving licence cards which expired during the Covid-19 lockdown period has been extended for another 90 days (three months).
This, he said, was an extension from August 31 this year to the end of November 2020.
With regard to being covered for insurance, Mr April advised affected motorists to contact their individual insurance companies to establish whether or not they will be covered.
