AK47 rifle and 108 rounds of ammunition seized in Harding

The firearms will be subjected to ballistic testing to ascertain if they have been used in the commission of any crime.

A recent operation to track down illegal firearms yielded positive results when police recovered firearms and arrested a 42-year-old man at his homestead in Madwaleni Reserve at KwaMachi in the Harding policing area.

Two 303 rifles, an AK47 rifle and an assortment of 108 rounds of ammunition were seized.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Harding Magistrate’s Court.

The firearms will be subjected to ballistic testing to ascertain if they have been used in the commission of any crime.

The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Khombinkosi Jula commended the police officers for the arrests and recoveries.
