Take note: Dick King Road in Port Shepstone is one-way again

Motorists failing to abide to the rules will be issued with the relevant fines.

Ray Nkonyeni Municipality Law Enforcement officers warn motorists that Dick King Road in Port Shepstone is officially a one-way road again.

Due to construction on Memorial Road and Reynolds Street, Dick King Road was used as a two-way road to reduce traffic on the congested Reynolds Street. Construction has since been completed, and Dick King Road is back to being a one-way road.

While Ray Nkonyeni Municipality has done the necessary road markings, motorists are still using it as a two-way road.

“All vehicles must travel exclusively in the indicated direction of the regulatory signs. Law Enforcement has warned motorists to obey the rules and not use this road as a two-way. Failing to do so, transgressors will be issued with the relevant fine,” said municipal spokesperson Simon April.

Resident Fathima Moosa cautioned all motorists to obey the rules. “We have seen many motorists disobeying the regulatory signs, not to turn into Dick King Road. I hope motorists will abide by the rules and not cause unnecessary confusion,” said Fathima.
