Leila’s Lane: Sad news as Tweni ‘legend’ Darryl Osborn dies
Doe was a regular at the beach, whether it was as a surfer or walking his dogs, Dexter and Odie.
In some extremely sad news, well-known and much-loved Tweni resident Darryl ‘Doe’ Osborn (73) has died.
He leaves behind his daughter and son, Angela and Don. Doe was a true legend, a daily regular at the beach, whether it was as a surfer or walking his man’s best friends, Dexter and Odie.
He loved going on camping trips to Botswana with good mates.
Local surfers did a ‘paddle out’ for Doe, a very moving and memorable tribute, made even more perfect as dozens of dolphins joined the group and whales were spotted in the background.
There was no wind and the sea was blue and quiet.
In other news, John Spencer reports that impressive grass cutting has been done, especially at the top of Old St Faith’s road. Also, he reckons the road repairs are the best he’s ever seen.
Roads in dire need are Mkhuhwla Road and Norman Avenue and not forgetting the bad patch on Mgazi Avenue.
It’s believed Ray Nkonyeni Municipality is using new contractors and it’s a good sign of a job well done when compliments are received.
