Umdoni Municipality confirms two more positive Covid-19 cases

Umdoni Municipality has disclosed that two employees at municipal offices in Scottburgh and Renishaw have tested positive for Covid-19.

One of the employees works at the refuse collection section under technical services and is currently self-isolating, while the other assisted as a receptionist at the Scottburgh office from Monday this week.

“The municipality urges members of the public that have interacted with the staff member at reception since Monday, to visit a health institution for testing,” said Umdoni Municipality communications manager, Sphelele Cele.

According to Ms Cele, some of the staff at the municipality who previously tested positive for Covid-19 have since been cleared and are back at work.

“In the midst of this pandemic that threatens the health of our employees, the municipality extends its gratitude to members of the public who have been sympathetic to the situation thus exercising patience and understanding when it matters the most,” she added.
