UPDATE: Covid-19 death rate climbs to 35 in Ugu District

The number of confirmed cases stands at 2 984 in the district, and 1 297 people have recovered.

As of today, Friday, July 31, KwaZulu-Natal has 73 919 confirmed Covid-19 cases, according to the Department of Health.

Of these, 38 002 are active with 2 679 new cases confirmed today.

Some 804 people have died from the disease in the province.

The recovery rate is 35 113.

The total number of screenings done is 9 747 937 and 204 105 tests have been conducted.
