The KZN Ladies Golf Association (KZNLGA) Mid-Amateur Inter-Provincial team won the recent GolfRSA Women’s Mid-Am Inter-Provincial Tournament played at Pecanwood Golf and Country Club.

The winning team of Liezl Smit (captain), Goodness Moyana, Sabiha Bacaus-Hulley and Mercia Goldswain made history by securing KZN’s first-ever SA Women’s Mid-Amateur Inter-Provincial title.

This was a proud moment built on teamwork, determination and a championship performance when it mattered most.

For Goldswain, the tournament came with a challenge after she injured herself on one of the days. However, she was able to keep herself together, played and managed to win the foursomes game.

KZNLGA produced a superb 4-2 victory over Western Province to clinch the A-Section title in style.

Goldswain described the KZN team’s win as “next level”.

“I never thought it could happen, but I had the best team for that week, and we made it work! My captain was so inspirational as well,” she added.

Team members said this was an incredibly special achievement as they wrote their names into KZN women’s golfing history.
