“We’ll find someone who your warm clothes fit,” says The Salvation Army

This year, many more people are in need because of the impact of Covid-19.

As winter makes itself felt throughout the country, The Salvation Army has appealed to the public to donate clothing to help those in need, especially the homeless.

The Army’s latest advert asks for  old winter clothes that no longer fit to be donated to The Salvation Army. The thrust of the campaign is the idea that “we’ll find someone who your warm clothes fit.”

Major Carin Holmes, PR Secretary for The Salvation Army, says: “As is the case with every winter season, we receive many requests for food, blankets and warm clothing.

“This year, many more people are in need because of the impact of Covid-19.

“We hope this will strike a chord in viewers by reminding them why it’s time to donate their winter clothes that they have outgrown to those who can use them.”

The visuals in the advert depict this by showing the indents on the wearer’s skin of clothing that has become too tight and is therefore time to donate to someone who it will more properly fit.

Old winter clothes can be taken to the nearest Salvation Army church. Alternatively, financial donations are also welcome.
