UPDATE: Ugu District records 46 Covid-19 deaths

Some 1 940 people have recovered from the disease in the district.

As of today, Wednesday, August 5, KwaZulu-Natal has 85 868 confirmed Covid-19 cases, according to the Department of Health.

Of these, 32 972 are active with 1 616 new cases confirmed today.

Some 1 039 people have died from the disease in the province.

The recovery rate is 51 972.

The total number of screenings done is 10 032 531 and  211 859 tests have been conducted.
