Deadlines for expired driver’s and motor vehicle licences extended

Please take note that all RNM offices will be closed on Saturday, August 8 and Monday, August 10, due to the Women's Day holiday on August 9.

Driver’s licence cards, professional driver’s permits and learner’s licences which expired between March 26 2020 and July 2020 are deemed valid until January 31 2021, spokesman for Ray Nkonyeni Municipality Simon April has confirmed.

Motor vehicle licence discs which expired between March 26 2020 and May 31 2020 are valid until August 31 2020.

Any motor vehicle licence which expired during that period and which is renewed after September 1 2020 will attract penalties accruing from the actual date of expiry of the licence disc.

Please take note that all RNM offices will be closed on Saturday, August 8 and Monday, August 10, due to the Women’s Day holiday on August 9.

According to the municipality, the motor licensing bureau and driving licence and testing centre, which are currently operating on weekends, will be affected by the closure.
