Mbizana Municipality mourns the loss of four staff
Mbizana Mayor, Daniswa Mafumbatha extended sympathy to the families.
The past month has been very difficult for the families, colleagues and friends of four Mbizana Municipality officials who are believed to have died from Covid-19 related illnesses, according to a statement released by the municipality.
Dakhile Faku (an IT technician) Makhosonke Mngomeni (Manager: Legal Services); Zakhele Jojimali (Manager: Human Resources) and Siyabonga Maphumulo, a traffic officer were all described as hardworking individuals who had each left an indelible mark on their respective departments.
Municipal Manager, Luvuyo Mahlaka expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families.
“We are deeply saddened by the sudden death of our colleagues who were not only dedicated to their work but who had also dedicated their lives to serving the communities of Bizana and surrounds.”
Mr Mahlaka said he and his colleagues felt ‘incomplete’ but were grateful for the time they had shared with the four.
He encouraged staff to ensure that their work stations were kept clean at all times to minimise the spread of the virus and to protect both themselves and the communities they served.
Mbizana Mayor, Daniswa Mafumbatha also extended sympathy to the families.
“The role played by these officials was vital in ensuring service delivery reached our communities, We have lost people of high calibre whose shoes will be difficult to fill,” said the mayor.
