Updated Covid-19 stats for Umdoni communities

Scottburgh is currently the town with the most active cases in the Umdoni area.

As of today, Wednesday, August 12, KwaZulu-Natal has 100 494 confirmed Covid-19 cases, according to the Department of Health.

Of these, 42 213 are active with 1 098 new cases confirmed today.

Some 1 523 people have died from the disease in the province.

The recovery rate is 56 758.

The total number of screenings done is 10 490 329 and  222 764 tests have been conducted.

In the Umdoni area in particular, the following updated stats are as follows :

Active cases – 20

Deaths – 4

• Emalangeni (Ward 7):

Active cases – 14

Deaths – 0

• Amahlongwa (Ward 18):

Active cases – 9

Deaths – 3

• Dududu (Ward 19):

Active cases – 6

Deaths – 2

• Pennington (Ward 10):

Active cases – 5

Deaths – 0

• Sezela (Ward 7):

Active cases – 2

Deaths – 1

• Park Rynie (Ward 10):

Active cases – 2

Deaths – 0

• Dumisa (Ward 5):

Active cases – 1

Deaths – 2

• Mistake Farm (Ward 12):

Active cases – 1

Deaths – 0
