UPDATE: Confirmed Covid-19 cases stand at 4 332 in Ugu District

Some 3 571 people have recovered from the disease in the district.

As of today, Wednesday, August 19, KwaZulu-Natal has 106 565 confirmed Covid-19 cases, according to the Department of Health.

Of these, 22 177 are active with 521 new cases confirmed today.

Some 1 789 people have died from the disease in the province.

The recovery rate is 82 599.

The total number of people screened is 11 082 149 and the total tests conducted are 233 163.
