A community that has already been living in fear is now even more terrified.

Another body has been found near Mthwalume, this time on the side of the road in the Nomakhanzana area, burnt beyond recognition.

A full police report is still awaited and at this stage it is believed to be impossible to tell whether the body is that of a man or a woman.

Whether or not it is connected to the discovery of five other bodies, all women, in the same general area over the past few weeks, is yet to be determined.

These discoveries sparked fears of a serial killer operating in the area.

A suspect taken into custody recently was found dead in a holding cell, hanged.

The community is horrified and terrified at the killing spree, and the discovery of this latest body won’t have allayed their fears.

The fact that it’s Women’s Month in South Africa has made the situation even more disturbing.

Certain political parties, like the IFP, which recently hosted a prayer meeting in the area, have expressed sympathy to the families of the dead women.

The party urged the Government to ensure the investigation receives top priority.
