Park Rynie film company begins production on ‘Dreamy Dave’
Shooting is scheduled to begin in South Africa and Sydney, Australia in November.
Boulevard Films, a production company based in Park Rynie, is in the process of producing its second feature film, ‘Dreamy Dave’.
The storyline and concept were created by local actor, Bruce Gounder and it was written by Kevin Singh.
“?It is a family comedy which will leave everyone in stitches,” said Bruce.

The movie is about a man who goes by ‘Dreamy Dave’ played by Bruce, who works in an average job while constantly dreaming about making it big in the movie industry.
After being hit on the head with a frying pan by his crazy landlord, he starts seeing visions of Marilyn Monroe, who acts as his guide and encourages him to pursue his dreams – in Australia.
Auditions have opened and Bruce, who is also the casting director, is still on the hunt for A-list South African actors and hopes to work with some familiar faces in Australia too.

“We will showcase our beautiful country with scenes being shot in both Johannesburg and Durban, and several on the South Coast,” said Bruce.
“As soon as travel restrictions are lifted, we will be heading to Australia for casting.”

Boulevard Films’s first feature, ‘Fish’s Tale’, wrapped production about a month ago and is expected to premier in Durban in September.

The production company is already working on creating ‘Fish’s Tale 2’ which will be shot in Shanghai, China.
A horror movie in Canada is also in the pipeline.
“Our team wants to offer different genres of entertainment to suit everyone?s tastes and we push ourselves to achieve what others think would be impossible,” said Bruce.
