Suspected drug dealer nabbed in Sheppie

He was found in possession of more 2200 mandrax tablets, 640 heroin tablets and two firearms.

An operation conducted by police officers from the Provincial Drug and Firearm Unit this week led to the recovery of drugs with an estimated street value of more than R194 000.

On Tuesday afternoon, a 34-year-old man was arrested in Port Shepstone.

He was found in possession of more 2200 mandrax tablets, 640 heroin tablets and two firearms.

It was discovered that one of the firearms had been stolen in the Southport policing area in May 1998.

He is expected to appear in the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court.

An investigation to link him to the theft of the firearm is continuing.

KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Khombinkosi Jula commended the team for their determination in fighting drug trade in the province.
