Teen disappears while swimming at Sunwich Port

This is the second teenager believed to have been swept out to sea in just over a week.

A teenager has gone missing while swimming at Sunwich Port beach.

Med-Evac Ambulance Service and the police’s Search and Rescue Unit have been at the scene searching for the bather (19).

The teen was apparently swimming with friends when he was washed out to sea.

A 15-year old boy, believed to be a pupil at Sister Joan’s High, went missing after going for a swim at the Port Shepstone beach on Tuesday last week.

Beaches are open to the public under lockdown level 2 regulations, but bathing remains prohibited, pending the replacement of shark nets.
