Body of newborn baby found in black bin bag

No arrests have been made at this stage.

Margate detectives are investigating a case of concealment of birth after the body of a newborn baby was found in Margate yesterday.

The body was found by a man searching the bin bags on the corner of Wartski and Windsor roads yesterday.

Police and emergency services were called to the scene at about 3pm.

Spokesman Captain Petros Mpinge confirmed the incident and said Margate Saps detectives were investigating a concealment of birth case.

He confirmed that no arrests had been made as yet.
