Near-drowning reported at Ramsgate main beach

The teen was taken to hospital for a check-up.

A girl (16) from Pretoria was washed out to sea at Ramsgate earlier today (Tuesday).

According to Glen Preston of Med-Evac Ambulance Service, the girl managed to get back to shore and was taken to hospital for a checkup.

Mr Preston said Port Shepstone SAPS Search and Rescue, Med-Evac and Netcare 911 were at the scene.

  • Please note there are currently no lifeguards on duty at any beaches along the South Coast and swimming is strongly discouraged.
