Singer Zee urges South Africans to ‘rise again’

Zanele Nqoko, better known by her stage name Zee International, is a South African singer and songwriter who was born and raised in Margate.

Her latest single ‘Rise Again’ is a melodious song with a message about strength, hope and unity, not just for South Africa but the world as well.

She started singing in her school’s choir when she was 10 years old.

By the age of 13 she was told to join the senior choir because of her strong voice and passion for music.

She drew inspiration from her late mother, who was the church choir leader and who also served as a deaconess.

Zanele grew up in a musical family, with most members accomplished vocalists.

She encourages self-acceptance and hopes to inspire others in these trying times, urging all to stand together to fight against the Covid-19 pandemic and other social causes.

Her single is inspired by what is happening in the world today.
