Mbewana murder suspect in court
Mbewana – known for his swag and for being a loving father to his children – was a civil engineer by profession and a senior official at the King Cetshwayo District Municipality.
The man accused of killing engineer, businessman and socialite Mluleki Wiseman Mbewana (32) will be appearing in court today, October 8.
The man, whose photos had been all over social media, reportedly handed himself in at the Sydenham Police Station this week.
According to police spokesman Brigadier Jay Naicker, the suspect will face a charge of murder.
Mbewana – known for his swag and for being a loving father to his children – was a civil engineer by profession and a senior official at the King Cetshwayo District Municipality.
He was gunned down outside the Rich nightclub in Umgeni Business Park on September 23.

It is believed the shooting was captured on video while there was also CCTV footage which was shared with investigators.
The club’s co-owner, Kgolo Mthembu, has pleaded through a series of videos on Instagram for witnesses to provide statements that would help the police.
Mr Mthembu said the club’s security and one eyewitness had given statements to the police.
He said his head of security has also provided video footage and “anything they could find” to the investigating officers.
“We had lots of people who saw this, including Mlu’s friends. Those who were with Mlu and who know what caused the argument have not come forward which is concerning,” he said.
Mbewana was laid to rest at his Mthwalume home on Saturday last week.
