Ugu serves notice of intention to suspend municipal manager, DD Naidoo

He has been given seven days to respond to the allegations of non-compliance as cited by a Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA)investigation report.

Ugu District Municipality has issued municipal manager,  DD Naidoo with a notice of an intention to suspend following allegations of financial non-compliance committed by municipal officials.

According to municipal spokesman, France Zama, the municipality has been diligently processing matters contained in a Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA) report which was tabled before the municipal council recently.

“As part of the process of matters contained in the report, noticed is served to Mr Naidoo in his capacity as an accounting officer. He has been given seven days to respond to the allegations of non-compliance as cited by the investigation report,” said Mr Zama.

“Thereafter the municipal council will consider the representations by the municipal manager and determine the direction to be undertaken in dealing with these matters.

“The municipality is conscious of the fact that such matters (it’s currently dealing with) invoke public interest and raises anxiety levels among interested parties. The municipal leadership is instituting all due processes in dealing with these matters,” he said.
