Top learners look forward to national debate

It is part of efforts led by the Safer South Africa Foundation (SSAF) to intensify crime prevention at schools.

Five learners were chosen to represent KwaZulu-Natal at the Youth Crime Prevention School Debate grand finale held last Saturday.

These learners are Nqobile Mthethwa and Wandile Ngobese from Harding Secondary School, Samkelisiwe Ndovela from Mcushwa Secondary School, Mbali Mthokozisi and Mzindle Msingatheni, who are both from Olwandle High School.

The learners were selected to take part in the debate tournament after they performed the best in an essay competition about what they believed could be done about the crime situation at their schools and within their communities.

The competition, dubbed the #Youth4SaferSouthAfricaDebate, is for learners between grades 8 and 11. It is part of efforts led by the Safer South Africa Foundation (SSAF) to intensify crime prevention at schools.

Congratulations to these learners for their excellent efforts.
