Another vehicle veers off Umzumbe bridge

In December last year, a vehicle smashed through the railings and also landed on the sand below the bridge. Nobody was injured.

In the space of three months, two vehicles have gone off the Umzumbe bridge.

In the instance of the most recent, Glen Preston of Med-Evac, said the driver lost control and went over the bridge, landing on the sand below.

“He was in a stable condition and transported to a provincial hospital,” he said.
