Two arrested for possession of drugs

Margate Saps drug task team arrested two men, aged 25 and 28, for being in possession of heroin at the Margate taxi rank on Monday this week.
They were charged for dealing in drugs and possession of drugs.
Police spokesman Sergeant Sibu Ncane said the drugs were confiscated by police, and the men were detained in Margate police custody.
They appeared in the Ramsgate Magistrate’s Court last Tuesday (16th).
Margate Saps crime prevention members last Sunday (14th) found people drinking alcohol at Margate main beach.
Five people were arrested and charged for drinking alcohol in public. Liquor and a cooler box were confiscated.
Margate Station Commander, Brigadier William Slabbert, commended his members for the arrests and for targeting drug peddlers.
He further thanked the public for the ongoing co-operation with the police.
