Simple dinner turns into unforgettable memory

They enjoyed spending time taking in the stunning coastline, as well as some of the inland attractions.

With the easing of lockdown, the South Coast welcomed tourists to the region, especially over the recent Valentine’s weekend.

One such couple was Frans Ras and Leonie du Toit, all the way from the mountains in Rustenberg (North West province) to the hot and humid but irresistibly beautiful South Coast.

They enjoyed spending time taking in the stunning coastline, as well as some of the inland attractions.

But Frans had other things on his mind and a plan of epic proportions up his sleeve.

He and Leonie have been dating for three years and he decided it was time to take the next step – to go down on one knee and propose to the love of his life.

And he wanted to do that on the South Coast, over an intimate dinner.

He approached the new owner of the Crayfish Inn in Ramsgate, Raban Pillay, who, together with his staff, left no stone unturned to make it a truly memorable evening for the couple.

They helped him pull off the surprise proposal, and judging by the video, it appears Leonie had absolutely no idea what Frans was up to.

But it’s clearly evident she was greatly pleased, and after recovering from the initial shock and surprise. leapt up to give him a huge hug and kiss.

As for Frans, he wore the widest smile you’ll see for a long time!
