Cruel death: Four kittens tossed from car, driven over
Lower South Coast SPCA is urgently seeking eye witnesses to come forward with any information that could be used to track down the person responsible for killing four kittens.

Three kittens were killed and one had to later be euthanized by a vet after a motorist allegedly threw them out of a car window yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon and then drove over them in the Uvongo area at about 4.45pm.
Chairman of the Lower South Coast SPCA, Scott Kvalsvig said the SPCA would not tolerable this barbaric behaviour and was being assisted by security companies to find the person or people who did this.
“People must call the SPCA rather than dump their animals,” he urged.
He encouraged the community to come forward with any information that would help them find the culprits.
“We are looking for the driver of a red sedan. If anyone has any information that could assist us with laying criminal charges against this person, we would greatly appreciate it.” – SCOTT KVALSVIG

According to an eye-witness the vehicle was reported apparently driving from Stafford Road passing Larry’s Restaurant down to Delve Drive and up Uvongo Beach Road.
A dead kitten was found on Uvongo Beach Road opposite La Crete Sands, and another two kittens on Delve Drive.
The fourth kitten had to be euthanized by a vet as its jaw had been badly hurt.

The eye witness said they saw the vehicle driving from Larry’s towards the Pavilion.
“I saw the first kitten scramble around after it was dumped out of the passenger door. I went to check on the first one but it was dead. But by the time I managed to get to it, another one had been dumped a little further up the road and half its face had been driven over. I picked it up and placed it in the grass.”

“The red sedan also drove past on the road near the Uvongo tidal pool. One of the kittens was tossed out and driven over. Another one was tossed out – it did a kind of swivel or twirl and then ran into the bushes on the opposite side of the road towards the complexes.”
