Southcity Christian College learners have proved that they have grit and are overcomers.
They have faced the challenges head on and with hard work have secured exceptionally good and deserving results.
Under difficult circumstances, their performance is nothing short of praiseworthy.
A total of 82 percent of the college’s matriculants achieved a Bachelor’s Pass and 98 percent received a result good enough to enter tertiary education.
The college has once again maintained its status as one of the top academic schools on the South Coast with one third of its total results being either an A or a B symbol.
Sarah-Joy Pringle achieved seven A symbols and one B symbol.
She placed in the IEB top one percent for Life Science and Life Orientation.
Mckayla du Bruyn achieved six A symbols and one B symbol.
Jeandré Joubert achieved four A symbols and three B symbols. He placed in the top one percent for Afrikaans FAL.
Wendy Lourens, the principal of Southcity Christian College said that the wonderful statistics of the Grade 12s of 2020 is testimony to the expertise and dedication of the school’s exceptional teaching staff, as well as the hard work and commitment of the learners.
She wished all matriculants the very best as they embark on their exciting and new endeavours going forward.
Five Southcity learners have swum qualifying times for South African Junior nationals.
These learners have participated in Ugu galas over the last few weekends where they achieved these times.
Everraud Raynard in Grade 5 has qualified six times, Bayanda Hufner Grade 8 (qualified twice), Tristan Horsley Gr 8 (qualified twice), Jayden Vermeulen and Kaitlyn Ramos.
