PSHS celebrates academic excellence

Jesheran Yengopal was the Dux for 2020 and swept many of the prestigious awards.

Port Shepstone High School’s Class of 2020 overcame tremendous challenges last year, and through their resilience and hard work achieved the unimaginable.

Some exceptional results were achieved and the school is incredibly proud of all the hard work that went into attaining these accomplishments during the challenging Covid-19 times.

Out of 244 learners, Port Shepstone High School achieved a 98.4 percent pass rate, garnered 82.37 percent Bachelor Pass’s and achieved a total number of 304 distinctions.

Hope Smith and Demi Orsmond were part of the joy and jubilation experienced during the 2020 release of results where they could pick up their statements and their yearbooks.

A small prize giving ceremony honouring the outstanding learners of 2020 was held on Friday (5th).

All Covid-19 protocols were observed, and as such only a small number of learners were able to attend, and no parents.

Fynn Weber and Thomas Schackenberg were delighted to achieve seven distinctions each during the National Senior Certificate exams.

It was however, still a momentous occasion where top learners were acknowledged for their excellence.
