Driver luckily escapes fallen tree

Strong gale force winds on Monday this week wrecked havoc in and around the coast.

A huge tree fell down and onto a car in Uvongo.

The driver managed to escape from the ordeal with minor injuries and was not transported to hospital.

Once on the scene, Rudi Prinsloo from Med-Evac had to cut the tree to get the car out from under the branches.

The team from Ray Nkonyeni Municipality’s Fire Department then took over, chopping it up to clear the road.

The vehicle had to be towed away.
