Electrician fatally injured in Port Shepstone
It is believed that there was an electrical issue at the premises after the storm on Wednesday night.
A 55-year-old man who was fixing electric wires from approximately six metres above the workshop floor at a Port Shepstone business, fell to his death yesterday (Thursday) around noon.
“Port Shepstone SAPS detectives have opened an inquest docket. The man was declared dead and taken to the state mortuary for a post-mortem to determine the cause of death,” said Captain Petros Mpinge, spokesman at Port Shepstone SAPS.
It is believed that there was an electrical issue at the premises after the storm on Wednesday night.
“We believe he may have touched a live wire before falling off the ladder and sustaining fatal injuries,” said Glen Preston of Med-Evac Services.
