Strong field for Saturday’s Stableford
Saturday saw a return of the P&G Construction Betterball Stableford with a strong field vying for the whisky and wine prizes on offer.

The sani2c was a great success not only for the cyclists but for the club and town of Scottburgh.
The committee extends thanks to all who came and supported the cyclists and also to the club members who gave up their time to assist wherever they could.
It was back to golf on Wednesday in the form of a combined Stableford with the members making the most of it after a blank weekend.
Pete Morris and Leon van Zyl combined well enough to post 68 points which couldn’t be beaten.
Geoff Thommasen and son-in-law Gerrit Meyer came close with 67 with ever present Brian Richards and Hans Beuthe third with 64.
Not to be outdone by husband Pete, Alex Morris found the hidden holes and so did Anton Visage and Brian Richards.
Geoff Thommasen and Denis Brown, however rolled in 2-clubs for a share of the spoils.
Saturday saw a return of the P&G Construction Betterball Stableford with a strong field vying for the whisky and wine prizes on offer.
President Ian Walker chose Clyde Leisegang as his partner and together they managed 42 points to easily win the whisky.
Coming four points behind were wine lovers Brian Richards (again) and Tony Power beating into third place Mick Marriot and Gerrit Meyer on 37.
Brian Richards stepped up again for his nearest the pin on the 5th and “lucky” Linda Hall beat all the men to claim the 10th.
John Mills and Heera Mahabeer had 2-clubs but no mention of the hidden holes.
Rob Milton has been down from the north for a few days and with Colin Moodie as a partner he didn’t go home empty handed, a bit lighter in the pocket maybe as they managed to win the right to hoist the Stone.
This Friday night the ladies are holding a jumble sale with plenty of “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure” on offer to anybody interested.
The sardines have apparently been seen in the Eastern Cape and with a bit of luck should grace the Scottburgh shore around the same time as our annual Sardine run tournament.
Flyer’s footnote: A back handed “non chalant” putt counts just the same as a serious “chalant” putt.
