Fears grow over missing women

There has been a huge increase in people going missing and this is a big concern for the investigators.

Kerry Ross (35), from Umtentweni has been missing for 12 days. She moved to Gauteng where she has been living and working.

She is a social and well-liked person, and her strange disappearance has become a worry to those who know her.

Kerry has blonde hair and is about five foot three inches in height.

The family has hired Mike Bolhuis Specialised Investigations, who has appointed specialist investigator Odette van Staden to head the search operation.

Ms van Staden said Kerry was last seen at her known address in Chartwell, Fourways in Gauteng by a tenant on Saturday, June 5.

She is believed to have gone missing with her boyfriend, aged 31.

“Mike Bolhuis Specialised Investigations launched a missing person project and placed it on social media platforms that assist us to receive information from the public,” she said.

Ms van Staden confirmed that Kerry’s vehicle has been found, it was parked in a parking bay at her boyfriend’s house.

There is a lot of speculation surrounding her disappearance, and Ms van Staden confirmed that all information is being looked into.

“We are confident and hopeful that she will be found and returned safe to her family,” she added.

In a separate case, Nomavu Smangele Zangwa (34) was reported missing at Paddock SAPS after she allegedly left Bizana to go to Paddock on May 30.

It is believed she arrived at the petrol station but has not been seen since.

Police spokesman Captain Petros Mpinge said she was wearing a pink floral skirt, pink polo-neck top and carrying a brown handbag.

Mrs van Staden gave the following missing person tips:

* A missing person must be reported immediately when realising the person is missing. There is no waiting period to report.
* It is important to know where a loved one is going and who they are going to meet.
* Always have as much information as possible available to track and locate a person.
* Always be aware of what and who is around you.
