Roads blocked by rioters in mid-South Coast

The R612 Umzinto coming towards Park Rynie is currently closed as protesters set logs and tyres on fire.

A number of roads throughout the mid-South Coast have been blocked/closed since this morning due to protest action.

The R612 Umzinto coming towards Park Rynie is currently closed as protesters set logs and tyres on fire.

The N2 Sezela towards Pennington has also been closed.

These road closures were reported around 10:30 and locals are advised not to travel and to rather stay safe at home.

Umzinto was hit hard this morning with violent protests and looting as well as Umkomaas.

Reports now indicate that there is currently a couple hundreds of protesters in Amandawe.
