Linda ‘annihilates’ the men with 41 points

Linda Hall and Mandy Jones decided to join the men and Linda absolutely annihilated the men with 41 points.

It was rather a subdued feeling as we set off for an Individual Stableford at Scottburgh Golf Club last Wednesday.

No chatting on the tee, no banter at the halfway and no chirping in the bar after the game. On the bright side – if there is one, there were no fines either but I’m sure the powers that be are keeping a diary of sorts.

Anyway keep safe and we’ll be back to some sort of normality before long.

As for Wednesday, Linda Hall and Mandy Jones decided to join the men and Linda absolutely annihilated the men with 41 points. Denis Brown and John Mills tried hard but were left three shots behind on 38 with Denis getting the nod and claiming the only 2-club.

Tony Power as usual was mentioned in the dispatch and he will be feeling how heavy the Stone is when we re-open.

Saturday was also played in the same vein as Wednesday with the 4 balls keeping 2-hole social distancing.

The ladies played their monthly medal sponsored by Captain Bob Hall. Bob’s wife Linda decided to keep it in the family as once again she blew the opposition away with a nett 64… is the handicapper reading this?

Alex Morris beat Hayley Gilliver into second place with a 73 over Hayley’s 74, no doubt these two also scored big over their two Pete’s. Debbie du Toit had the fewest putts which was some consolation for losing third place on the count out.

The men played a betterball Stableford, Kevin Reimer and John Mills took the day on 40 points closing out Mick Marriott and Geoff Thommasen on the same score.
Barry Kisten had the only 2-club and Russel Freeman and Clyde Leisegangs names went into the Stone’s diary.

Flyer’s footnote: Have you noticed that everyone replaces their divot after a perfect shot?
