One killed in head-on collision on N2 at Albersville

Two people were taken to hospital.

One person died in a head-on collision between a car and bakkie on the N2 at Albersville earlier this morning.
 
Kwazulu Private Ambulance Service responded to the incident along with other emergency services.
 
Paramedics assessed the scene and found that one patient had succumbed to fatal injuries before emergency services arrived.
 
A second person sustained serious injuries and a third sustained minor injuries. 
 
According to witnesses it is alleged the car had been travelling in the wrong direction on the freeway.
 
The patients were treated on scene before being transported to hospital for further treatment.

In a second incident, Kwazulu Private Ambulance Service and other emergency services responded to a collision on the R102 near the N2 yesterday evening.
 
They found that a truck had lost control and collided into a tree.
 
Paramedics quickly assessed the scene and found that one patient had sustained serious injuries and was trapped in the truck. A second patient sustained minor injuries.

Together with Ray Nkonyeni Fire and Rescue Services, paramedics stabilised the patients and used specialised rescue tools to remove the trapped patient.
 
The patients were transported to hospital for further treatment.
