Vuyisile Mthembu (agricultural advisor) donated seeds to the school and helped the school start a vegetable garden.
Hlanganani is now proud to have a beautiful small garden that is well maintained by the maintenance staff.
The main aim is to increase the size of the garden, to teach learners how to grow crops.
It is important to get children involved in gardening as it gives them a good understanding of where food comes from.
It is also an exciting introduction to biology for primary school learners.
The school is working towards fitting time spent tending to the school garden into available term time.
