Community policing forums the way forward
The united and steadfast manner in which everyone protected us within the ambits of the law, was truly impressive.
During the recent riots community policing proved to be vital in the district.
Police spokesman Captain Petros Zenzele Mpinge said the success of protecting the residents and businesses and ensuring their safety and security was as a result of members of local communities and businessmen taking a stand with law enforcement and Saps.
Ugu District Commissioner, Major General Sethenya Nxamagele expressed her deepest appreciation to everyone who worked night and day making sure they were safe.
The united and steadfast manner in which everyone protected us within the ambits of the law, was truly impressive.
Maj Gen Nxamagele further encouraged everyone to participate in policing initiatives and to join their respective community policing forums within their communities.
The public are the eyes and ears of the police and must therefore not hesitate to report all criminal activities to the police.
