Forum focuses on business growth

After electing a new committee earlier this month, the forum led by chairman Siyanda Dlungwana and secretary Burt Zondi gathered to discuss the way forward for business around the RNM region.

The Ray Nkonyeni Municipality (RNM) Business Forum held its first meeting at the Port Shepstone Civic Centre on Tuesday morning this week.

After electing a new committee earlier this month, the forum led by chairman Siyanda Dlungwana and secretary Burt Zondi gathered to discuss the way forward for business around the RNM region.

“We work with both governmental and private business enterprises, and we are looking to grow business in the area, primarily through tender ventures,” Zondi said.

According to Zondi, five businesses under the RNM Business Forum will join forces with a contractor chosen by the South African National Roads Agency (Sanral) in the rehabilitation of roads.

“We are meeting with the contractor from Sanral in order to iron out a way forward. If things go well and according to plan, we will be looking to start work on Monday,” Zondi said.

The tender involves rehabilitation of roads in the RNM region.
