Temple observes Skanda Shasti

They are also welcome to bring their Muruga murthies for the prayer.

The Umbango Sri Siva Soobramoniar Temple will observe Skanda Shasti from November 5 until November 9. The daily prayer will commence at 18:30 followed by a special service dedicated to Lord Muruga.

Devotees who want to participate in the daily obeyams are welcome. They are also welcome to bring their Muruga murthies for the prayer.

Skanda Sashti corresponds to the birth day of Lord Kartikeya or Subramanya also called as Muruga in Tamil.

Skanda Sashti is the sixth day (Sashti Tithi) of the Shuklapaksha in the month of Kartika (October – November). On Skanda Sashti people observe fasting to propitiate Lord Subramanya.
