Blake and Ryan got to congratulate Blake and Ryan at a fundraising golf day at Scottburgh GC on September 20.

It’s confusing enough when identical twins are on the scene. It can be even more so when the golf day winners have the same names.

But that’s what happened at the hockey tour fundraiser for Herselman twins Blake and Ryan, initiated by their grandmother Hazel Nevin of Scottburgh.

The twins are at Northwood High and have been selected to tour Singapore and Malaysia next year.

These tours cost money so gran Hazel thought the golf day would be a great idea, and it was.

There was excellent support, with the winners being Ryan Vincent, a former league player of some renown, and his son Blake, who is also a fantastic all-round sportsman.

Northwood is considered one of the top-ranked hockey schools in the country, and this tour will provide the twins with an opportunity to experience international competition and test their mettle on the global stage.

The golf day was played as a betterball with Ryan and Blake scoring 47 points.

In second place were Aarnav and Nivash Mahabeer on 45 points, followed by Simon Cubitt and Pete Morris on 44 points.

Nearest to the pin were Jason Gillver (2nd), Scott Messenger (5th), Leon van Zyl (10th) and Sean Halett (17th).

Longest drive were hit by Melissa Palmer (8th hole), Jason Gilliver (18th) and Rylie Balfour (junior – 15th).
