Two found dead at bottom of cliff near St Faiths

It is alleged the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed.

A vehicle rolled some 200m down an embankment in the Ophengeni area, near St Faiths on Wednesday afternoon.

Glen Preston of Medvac said it took paramedics, together with Saps Search and Rescue Unit, some three hours to retrieve the bodies of two people from the crash scene.

Police spokesman Captain Petros Mpinge confirmed that Mehlomnyama Saps has opened a case of culpable homicide after two people were found at the bottom of a cliff.

“It is alleged the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed. The deceased have not been officially identified as yet,” he said.
