Detectives arrest gang for woman’s murder

Police investigations led to the arrest of a suspect in the Yangweni Location, uMtwalume on Monday this week.

Four people, aged between 18 and 36 were arrested for murder and theft of motor vehicles by Msinsini detectives.

Police spokesman Colonel Thembeka Mbele said that police received a report of a murder at Nyangwini last Sunday.

“On their arrival police found the body of a 53-year-old woman with strangulation marks on her neck and an open wound on her forehead,” he said.

The woman was declared dead at the scene, and a case of murder was opened at Hibberdene SAPS.

The remaining three suspects were traced and arrested at C-Section in Umlazi.

They are detained at Scottburgh SAPS and are set to appear in the Umzumbe Magistrate’s Court tomorrow (Thursday) on charges of murder and theft of motor vehicles.
