Security guards arrested for man’s death

Two security guards have been arrested for the death of a man at the Ugu Market at Mkolombe near Marburg.

Police spokesman Captain Petros Mpinge confirmed that a case of murder had been opened, after a man was brought to the police station on Tuesday this week at about 18:00.

The man was arrested by two security guards allegedly for theft.

Mpinge said the deceased, aged 30, was taken to the Port Shepstone government mortuary for a post-mortem examination.

The two men aged 29 and 30 are in police custody and will appear in court soon.

A case of theft was also opened for investigation.
